About CTET Exam 2021

CTET 2021 Exam details: CTET is a national-level exam conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is conducted twice a year to determine the eligibility of candidates for appointment as teachers for Classes 1 to 8. The CTET exam is held in two sessions for Paper-I and Paper-II. The CTET Paper-I is for candidates who want to teach Classes 1-5 and Paper-II is for candidates who want to teach Classes 6-8. Candidates who wish to teach Classes 1-8 need to take both papers. 

CBSE has released a press release regarding some changes to the format of the CTET 2021 Exam. CBSE has also notified in the press release that CTET 2021 will be held in December 2021/January 2022. Every year CBSE conducts CTET Exam in an offline mode for accessing the eligibility of teachers in government schools. However, this year, the CTET Exam 2021 will be conducted in Online Mode with strict COVID-19 protocols to facilitate a faster exam process.

CTET 2021 Exam Key Points

In the press release, it is also notified that “within the existing syllabus of CTET and structure of the question paper, the question papers will be developed to assess less of factual knowledge and more of conceptual understanding, application, problem-solving, reasoning, and critical thinking focusing on the following aspects:

  1. To assess the teacher’s understanding on teaching their respective subject.
  2. To assess the futuristic teacher’s pedagogic content knowledge.
  3. To understand their knowledge for relevance of the subject in the school curriculum.
  4. Some questions will be added for assessing planning of teaching-learning experiences.
  5. The question paper will be focused on the assessment methodologies specific to the concept.

A sample blueprint or sample question papers will be released by CBSE for making it easy for the candidates to understand the revised format.

CTET 2021 Notification 

A press release for CTET 2021 Exam has been released on 30th July 2021, depicting that the CTET Exam 2021 will be held in December 2021/ January 2022 and there has been some revisions made to the syllabus and format. The detailed CTET 2021 Notification including the application process, eligibility criteria, dates, exam structure, syllabus, results, and more will be released in due course of time.

CTET 2021 Eligibility Criteria

The Eligibility Criteria is different for selecting candidates to the post of teacher for Classes I-V and for Classes VI-VIII. Let’s have a look at the Educational Qualification required by the candidates for both these sections:

Educational Qualification for Classes I-V

  1. A candidate who has completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with minimum 50% marks and cleared or appearing in final year exam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration) OR
  2. A candidate who has completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam securing minimum 45% marks and has cleared or appearing in final year exam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration), according to the NCTE Regulations 2002. OR
  3. A candidate who has completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent test with minimum 50% marks and has cleared or appearing in final year exam of Bachelor of Elementary Education (4 years duration).OR
  4. A candidate who has completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent test with minimum 50% marks and has cleared or appearing in final year exam of Diploma in Education (2 years duration). OR
  5. A candidate who has Bachelor’s degree and has cleared or appearing in final year exam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration).

Educational Qualification for Classes VI-VIII

  1. A candidate who holds a Graduation degree and has passed or is appearing in final year examination of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration). OR
  2. A candidate who has completed his/her Graduation degree with 50% marks and has cleared or appearing in final year exam of Bachelor in Education. OR
  3. A candidate who has completed his/her Graduation degree with 40% marks and has cleared or appearing in final year exam of Bachelor in Education, according to NCTE regulations. OR
  4. A candidate who has completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent test with minimum 50% marks and has cleared or appearing in final year exam of 4 years duration Bachelor of Elementary Education. OR
  5. A candidate who has completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with 50% marks and cleared or appearing in final year exam of B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed or B.A/B.Sc.Ed. OR
  6. A candidate who has Graduation degree with 50% marks and has cleared or appearing in B.Ed program of 1 year duration.




CTET 2021 Exam Pattern

CTET 2021 Exam will be conducted in two phases:

  1. Paper I
  2. Paper II

Paper I is conducted for candidates who have been looking forward to become teacher for Class I to V and Paper II is conducted for candidates who aspire to become teacher for Class VI to VIII. Candidates also have the option to apply for both Paper I and Paper II. Questions asked in both Paper I and Paper II are Objective Multiple-Choice Questions. A candidate is required to score minimum 60% to qualify CTET 2021 Exam. One major thing to note is that the CTET score is now valid for lifetime as announced by CBSE.

Nature and standard of questions:

• The test items on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the age group of 6-11 years. They will focus on understanding the characteristics and needs of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.

• The Test items in Language I will focus on the proficiencies related to the medium of instruction.

• The Test items in Language II will focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.

• Language II will be a language other than Language I. A candidate may choose any one language as Language I and other as Language II from the available language options and will be required to specify the same in the Confirmation Page.

• The Test items in Mathematics and Environmental Studies will focus on the concepts, problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding and applications of the subjects. In all these subject areas, the test items will be evenly distributed over different divisions of the syllabus of that subject prescribed for classes I-V by the NCERT.

• The questions in the test for Paper I will be based on the topics prescribed in syllabus of the NCERT for classes I – V but their difficulty standard as well as linkages, could be up to the Secondary stage.

CTET 2021 Paper II Exam Pattern

Item II (for Classes VI to VIII) Elementary Stage: (2.5-hour examination) Paper-II is for candidates who wish to teach in grades VI through VIII.

Nature and Standard of Questions (Paper-II)

Child Development and Pedagogy exam items will focus on the educational psychology of teaching and learning, mainly related to the age group of 11-14 years. They will concentrate on comprehending the features, requirements, and psychology of various learners, interacting with them, and the characteristics and characteristics of an effective facilitator of learning.

The language I test items will emphasize proficiencies associated with the medium of teaching.

Language II test items will emphasize language, communication, and understanding ability.

CTET Validity

The validity of CTET certificate for appointment has been revised and now the certificate will remain valid throughout life. The revised validity has been made effective from 2011 as announced by the Education Minister and the candidates whose certificates are expired can get their new certificate with no expiry. It has been declared that the States and UTs will be responsible for revalidating or re-issue TET certificates to the candidates whose period of 7 years has already expired (after 2011). Earlier, the validity of CTET certificate was for 7 years (from the date of issue).

CTET 2021 Exam Application Process

All candidates can follow the steps below to successfully apply for CTET 2021.

Step 1: Firstly, Go on Official Site of CTET 2021 e. ctet.nic.in.

     Step 2: Then click on to latest recruitment.

     Step 3: Submit the details as per given format without any mistake.

     Step 4: Complete the CTET 2021 Application Form.

     Step 5: Upload the required documents.

     Step 6: Pay fee and click on the Submit Button.

     Step 7: Finally take a printout of the Application form for the further Uses.

CTET 2021 Application Fee

Candidates can apply for CTET 2021 Exam by logging in to the official website of CTET after the notification for the same has been released. A candidate belonging to either General or OBC category is required to pay Rs. 1000/- (if applying for either Paper I or Paper II) and Rs. 1200/- (if applying for both the papers). The same amount is reduced to Rs. 600/- (if applying for either Paper I or Paper II) and Rs. 600/- (if applying for both the papers) for candidates belonging to SC/ST category.

CTET Cut-Off

The candidates appearing in CTET will be issued with a mark sheet. The Candidates securing 60% (General) and above marks will be issued an Eligibility Certificate for which the validity has been extended from 7 years to a lifetime period.

School Managements (Government, Local bodies, Government aided and unaided) may consider giving concessions to the person belonging to SC/ST, OBC, differently-abled persons, etc., in accordance with their extant reservation policy.

      UP Police SI 2022 Eligibility Criteria

      Educational Qualification

      • If you are applying for Sub Inspector & Assistant Sub Inspector (Clerk), the candidate must have done Graduation from some recognized University or Institute. Also, candidates should have computer typing knowledge.

          SSC CHSL 2024 Eligibility Criteria

          Nationality/Citizenship

          A candidate must be either of the following:

          • A citizen of India
          • A subject of Nepal
          • A subject of Bhutan
          • A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India
          • A person of Indian origin migrated from either/or Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India

          Note: All candidates (other than citizens of India) need to produce a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India when asked by the authorities. As per the official notification, the offer of appointment will be issued to such candidates only after they produce the certificate of eligibility.  



          Age Limit

          In order to fulfil SSC CHSL 2024 eligibility criteria, candidates must be aged between 18 and 27 years as on 1 August, 2024. This means that candidates should be born not before August 2, 1995 and not later than August 1, 2004.

          The Staff Selection Commission provides relaxation in the upper age limit to candidates belonging to different reserved categories. The permissible limit in age criteria for reserved categories is as mentioned below:

          • The date of birth entered by the candidate in SSC CHSL application form should be the same as mentioned in their Matriculation/Secondary Examination Certificate
          • Candidates seeking age relaxation must produce the required certificate issued from the competent authority, in the prescribed format at the time of document verification. The candidature of candidates who fail to produce the certificate will be considered under unreserved (UR) category
          • Ex-servicemen who have already obtained employment in civil side under the Central Government in Group ‘C’ & ‘D’ posts on regular basis after availing the reservation benefits given to ex-servicemen for their re-employment are not eligible to apply for the exam under ESM category
          • The period of ‘Call up Service’ of an ex-serviceman in the Armed Forces will also be considered as service rendered in the Armed Forces for the purpose of age relaxation
          • Candidates who are sons, daughters and dependents of ex-servicemen are not eligible to apply for SSC CHSL under ESM category



          Educational Qualification

          Post-wise educational qualification that candidates need to obtain fulfil SSC CHSL eligibility are:

          • For Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC)/Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Postal Assistant (PA)/Sorting Assistant (SA), Data Entry Operator (DEO): Candidates should clear Class 12 or possess an equivalent qualification from a recognised board or university
          • For DEO (Grade A) in the Office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG): Candidates should pass Class 12 in Science stream 

          with Mathematics as a subject from a recognised board or equivalent

          Note: Candidates who are yet to appear for Class 12 exams are also eligible to apply. However, such candidates need to present the documentary evidence of clearing Class 12 latest by August 1, 2024, informs the official website. 



          SSC CHSL 2024 Exam Pattern

          The examination is held in three stages.

          1. Computer-based Test: The first stage of the examination is the computer-based objective type. The questions will be set in English as well as in Hindi comprising of English language basic knowledge (25 questions of total 50 marks), general knowledge (26 questions of 50 marks), Quantitative Aptitude of basic arithmetic skills (25 questions of 50 marks) and general awareness (25 questions of 50 marks).
          1. Descriptive Written Test: The second stage of examination is of the descriptive type comprising of letter writing/application writing (the single question of 50 marks) and essay writing (the single question of 50 marks). This stage of the test will be held in “pen and paper” mode. Letter/application should be written in 150 – 200 words and essay should be written in 200 – 250 words.
          1. Typing test: The third stage of the test shall be the “typing/skill test”. The skill test for Data Entry Operator a Data Entry Speed of 8,000 depression of keys per hour on the computer is the minimum requirement. For the office of the Comptroller and Auditor General, the minimum speed of Key depression should be 15,000 per hour for a Data Entry Operator. The typing test is conducted for the post of Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant and the words per minute in Hindi.

          English Language

          This segment is basically concerned with the grammatical part of the English language. The question paper would comprise of topics such as Spot the error, Synonyms/Homonyms, Fill in the blanks, Spelling/Detecting Mis-spelt words, Antonyms, Idioms & phrases, Improvement of Sentences, One-word Substitutions, Active/Passive Voice of verbs, Shuffling of Sentence parts, Conversion into Direct/Indirect narrations, Comprehension Passage, Shuffling of Sentences in a passage, and Close Passage.

          Quantitative Aptitude

           The quantitative aptitude test is a simple mathematical-based question paper. The topics to be included are Number System, Arithmetic, Geometry, Algebra, Trigonometry, Mensuration, and Statistical Charts.

          General Awareness 

          The general awareness question paper is based on current events. Here the questions have been designed to test the general awareness of the candidate about the environment around him, knowledge of current events, experience in scientific aspects, matters of everyday observation, about India and its neighbouring countries. The questions will also be specially designed on history, geography, scientific research, economic scene, and general policy.



          SSC CHSL 2024 Exam Application Process

          Step 1: SSC CHSL 2021 Registration

          • Go to the official website of SSC at ssc.nic.in.
          • Click on the “Apply” tab and then on SSC CHSL.
          • The following window will open on the screen.
          • Enter your Aadhaar number or any other photo ID proof number, Name, Father’s name, Mother’s name, date of birth, Class 10 board name, roll number and year of passing, gender, level of education, permanent address, mobile number and email ID.

          The admit card for all stages of CHSL 2024 shall be issued by SSC at least two weeks before the dates of the respective examinations. The SSC CHSL Admit card will be available region-wise on the website of the commission. The candidates who qualify in the first stage of the examination shall be issued a separate admit card for the stage 2 examination. They should take the printout and carry the examination hall ticket to the examination centre. Applicants have to download their admit card online as the commission does not send the hall ticket online or by post.

          SSC CHSL 2024 Answer Key

          The Answer Key for the SSC CHSL stage 1 examination shall be available online by the commission for all the subjects. The candidates are required to download the answer key for checking the correct answer to all the questions. Also, the candidates will have an opportunity to submit representation against the provisional answer key in case of any doubt of anomaly.

            Skill test for the post of Data Entry Operator in the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG):

            The ‘speed of 15000 key depressions per hour will be adjudged on the basis of the correct entry of words/key depressions as per the given passage.

            The duration of the test will be for 15 minutes and printed matter in English containing about 3700-4000 key-depressions would be given to each candidate who would enter the same in the test computer.

            Skill test for the post of Lower Division Clerk/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (LDS/JSA) and Postal Assistants/ Sorting Assistants (PA/SA):

            The speed of 10500 key depressions per hour will be adjudged on the basis of the correct entry of words/key depressions as per the given passage.

            The duration of the test will be for 15 minutes and printed matter in English containing about 9000 key-depressions/hour would be given to each candidate who would enter the same in the test computer.
