The Earl of Dalhousie 1848 – 1856 Lord Dalhousie was the youngest Governor-General of India.
At the end of the second Anglo-Sikh War in 1849, Punjab was Associated with Dalhousie.  
He introduced the concept of the Doctrine of Lapse. The Doctrine of Lapse was put in by Dalhousie to Satara and it was annexed in 1848. Jhansi and Nagpur were annexed in 1854. 
Bentinck was successful in winning the friendship of Ranjit Singh and the Indus Navigation Treaty was concluded between them. This treaty opened up the Sutlej for navigation.  
During his reign, The first railway line connecting Bombay with Thane was opened in 1853. 
The foundation of the modern postal system was laid down by Lord Dalhousie. 
Dalhousie established a separate Public Works Department and allotted more funds for cutting canals and roads. He introduced the process of modernization of India. Hence, he is hailed as “the maker of modern India”.

accepting and repaying deposits as defined in Section 5(b) read with Section 56 of the Banking Regulation (BR) Act,
1949, with effect from the close of business on January 29, 2021.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) unveiled the risk-based internal audit (RBIA) system for select non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) with an asset size of over _ Rs 5,000 crore.

➢ As per the regulator, all the deposit-taking non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) and the ones with an asset
size of over Rs 5,000 crore will have to migrate to the new system.
➢ Currently, all the entities supervised by the RBI have their own approaches on internal audit, resulting in certain inconsistencies, risks and gaps in the system.

Mehul Choksi-owned Gitanjali Gems was the top wilful defaulter, accounting for Rs 5,071 crore of non-performing

As per the revised the objective and eligibility criteria of innovation sandbox by the Securities and Exchange Board of
India, an applicant can move from Stage-I to Stage-II only after a minimum of __ 60 Days.

➢ In order to encourage innovation and boost participation, markets regulator SEBI revised the objective and
eligibility criteria of its innovation sandbox with graded entry norms.
➢ As the revised guidelines, an applicant if completed a minimum 60 days in the Stage-I of Innovation Sandbox testing will be eligible to enter into stage 2 of the testing.

The Reserve Bank of India in its 5th Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) review projected India’s gross domestic Product
(GDP) growth at what per cent for the FY2021-22 __ 10.5%.

➢ The projection of Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation has been revised to 5.2% for the Q4FY21, 5.2 % to 5.0 % in
H1FY22 and declined to 4.3% by Q3FY22.

6% and lower tolerance of 2% i.e. within a band of +/- 2 %.

➢ The sectors which could benefit from this move include construction, real estate, and microfinance. RBI will

➢ LTRO lets banks borrow one to three-year funds from the central bank at the repo rate, by providing government
securities with similar or higher tenure as collateral.

The Central Government is all set to sell what per cent stake in National Fertilizers Ltd (NFL) out of its shareholding of

➢ To initiate the sale process, the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) has invited
tenders from merchant banks.
➢ It should be noted that NFL is the second largest producer of Urea in the country with a share of about 15% of total
Urea production in the country.

India Ratings and Research (Ind-Ra) Ltd estimated that India’s real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) will grow at what per

The Constitution of India was drawn up by a Constituent Assembly. The Assembly met for the first time on December 9, 1946. The Assembly constituted a Drafting Committee, under the chairmanship of Dr.B.R.Ambedkar, to frame a constitution for India. Indian Constitution was adopted on November 26, 1949 and it came into effect on January 26, 1950. It is the longest written Constitution of any country in the world containing 395 Articles, 22 Parts and 12 Schedules.

  • Rajendra Prasad was elected its Permanent Chairman on 11.12.1946.
  • The Draft Constitution was published in January, 1948. The people of India were given 8 months to discuss the draft and propose amendments. As many as 7,635 amendments were proposed and 2,473 were actually discussed.
  • The Constituent Assembly held 11 sessions.
  • The Draft Constitution was considered for 114 days. In all the Indian Constitution was prepared in 2 years, 11 months and 18 days.
  • The New Constitution of India was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on 26th November 1949 and signed by the President, Dr. Rajendra Prasad. 15 Articles (5,6,7,8,9,60,324,366,367,372, 380, 388, 391,392 and 393) came into force at once on that day.

  • Candidates can take this exam in English/Hindi or any regional language.
  • All the questions will be of objective types.
  • The level of difficulty set for this exam will be 10th Standard.
  • Each question in this CBT exam carries 1 mark for every right answer. However, there is a negative marking of one-third (1/3) for every wrong answer.

RPF Constable Selection Process 2024

There are total four stages in RPF Constable selection process which are – computer based test, physical measurement test, physical efficiency test, document verification.

Stage 1Computer Based TestIt is an online test that has 120 questions, and the candidates need to answer the paper in 90 minutes. For every wrong answer, 1/3rd mark will be deducted.

Stage 3Physical Efficiency TestCandidates’ physical efficiency will be assessed through activities such as running, long jump, and high jump.
