The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has cancelled the licence of Shivam Sahakari Bank Ltd based in which state __
Maharashtra.
Note:
➢ Following the cancellation of its license, the bank will stop to carry on the banking business, which includes
accepting and repaying deposits as defined in Section 5(b) read with Section 56 of the Banking Regulation (BR) Act,
1949, with effect from the close of business on January 29, 2021.
➢ The bank can start the liquidation proceeding, with the cancellation of the license.

The Reserve bank of India has appointed an external IT firm for carrying out a special audit of IT infrastructure of which of the following banks _ HDFC Bank.
Note:
➢ RBI has appointed an external professional IT firm for carrying out a special audit of the entire IT infrastructure of
the bank under Section 30 (1-B) of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949…, at the cost of the Bank under Section 30 (1-
C) of the Act.
➢ The bank shall accordingly extend its cooperation to the external professional IT firm so appointed by RBI for
conducting the special IT audit as above.

Which bank has decided to restrict its customers from withdrawing money from non-EMV automated teller machines (ATMs) with effect from 5 October 2024 __ Punjab National Bank.

➢ This restriction will apply to both, financial and non-financial transactions. To overcome this, PNB will introduce
OTP based systems for withdrawing cash.
➢ PNB has also decided to replace the old IFSC and MICR codes. This means that the old codes will not work after

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) unveiled the risk-based internal audit (RBIA) system for select non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) with an asset size of over _ Rs 5,000 crore.
Note:
➢ As per the regulator, all the deposit-taking non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) and the ones with an asset
size of over Rs 5,000 crore will have to migrate to the new system.
➢ Currently, all the entities supervised by the RBI have their own approaches on internal audit, resulting in certain inconsistencies, risks and gaps in the system.

Mehul Choksi-owned Gitanjali Gems was the top wilful defaulter, accounting for Rs 5,071 crore of non-performing

As per the revised the objective and eligibility criteria of innovation sandbox by the Securities and Exchange Board of
India, an applicant can move from Stage-I to Stage-II only after a minimum of __ 60 Days.

➢ In order to encourage innovation and boost participation, markets regulator SEBI revised the objective and
eligibility criteria of its innovation sandbox with graded entry norms.
➢ As the revised guidelines, an applicant if completed a minimum 60 days in the Stage-I of Innovation Sandbox testing will be eligible to enter into stage 2 of the testing.

➢ The account helps children develop healthy saving and spending habits, thereby giving them the freedom to save,

The Reserve Bank of India in its 5th Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) review projected India’s gross domestic Product
(GDP) growth at what per cent for the FY2021-22 __ 10.5%.

➢ The projection of Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation has been revised to 5.2% for the Q4FY21, 5.2 % to 5.0 % in
H1FY22 and declined to 4.3% by Q3FY22.
➢ The MPC has given the mandate to maintain annual inflation at 4% until March 31, 2021 with an upper tolerance of
6% and lower tolerance of 2% i.e. within a band of +/- 2 %.

➢ The sectors which could benefit from this move include construction, real estate, and microfinance. RBI will
provide these funds under on-tap targeted long-term repo operations (TLTRO) at a floating rate linked to the policy
rate for up to three years. At present, the repo rate is 4 percent.
➢ LTRO lets banks borrow one to three-year funds from the central bank at the repo rate, by providing government
securities with similar or higher tenure as collateral.

➢ The e-Challan system has been integrated with VAHAN & SARATHI, which are the flagship applications of MoRTH
(Ministry of Road Transport & Highways).

The Central Government is all set to sell what per cent stake in National Fertilizers Ltd (NFL) out of its shareholding of
74.71% through an Offer For Sale (OFS) method of shares _ 20 per cent.

➢ To initiate the sale process, the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) has invited
tenders from merchant banks.
➢ It should be noted that NFL is the second largest producer of Urea in the country with a share of about 15% of total
Urea production in the country.

Nobel laureates Paul J. Crutzen passed away recently, he received the prize in which discipline __ Chemistry.

➢ He won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1995, jointly with Mario J. Molina and F. Sherwood Rowland, for their work
in atmospheric chemistry, particularly concerning the formation and decomposition of ozone.
➢ He was known for his work on the ozone layer and climate change and for popularizing the term ‘Anthropocene’ to
describe a proposed new era when human actions have a drastic effect on the Earth.

Hilton Valentine, the founding guitarist of the rock and roll band ‘The Animals’ passed away recently, he held from which country __ England.
